You shouldn’t have to live with uncomfortable vaginal symptoms. Help is available in the form of many treatments, and one of them is the MonaLisa Touch laser.

MonaLisa Touch is a fractional CO2 laser for gynecologic use. It is both hormone and chemical free. During the procedure, which is done under local anesthesia, energy is delivered via a side-firing probe inserted into the vaginal canal. A two-part pulse targets surface (epithelial) and deep (lamina propria) tissue to promote vaginal mucosal revitalization. By gently acting on the tissue of the vaginal mucosa, the laser stimulates the production of collagen, which improves the functionality of the treated area and restores the proper trophic balance to the mucous membrane. Many patients describe it as feeling like a gentle vibration. The result is significantly improved vaginal symptoms and a return to the way you used to feel. This procedure has greatly improved the quality of life for many women.

MonaLisa Touch treats:

  1. Vaginal dryness
  2. Painful intercourse
  3. Vaginal atrophy
  4. Sexual dysfunction
  5. Vaginal laxity
  6. Burning during urination
  7. Lichen sclerosus et atrophicus

As women age, their estrogen levels decline. This can often result in vaginal changes and discomfort. Many women experience these problems during perimenopause and menopause, but they can also notice them after having children. Some patients have developed estrogen deficiency symptoms from chemotherapy, antiestrogen use with certain breast cancers, ovarian and uterine cancers. Others may be using estrogen but still suffer from vaginal dryness.

This treatment is typically an excellent option for most women who:

  1. Are experiencing issues from a decline in estrogen
  2. Are experiencing symptoms as a result of a hysterectomy
  3. Are experiencing symptoms as a result of breast cancer treatments
  4. Cannot or prefer not to receive estrogen therapy
  5. Haven’t had success with vaginal estrogen, hormone replacement therapy, vaginal moisturizers or lubricants, or medications

There is no downtime associated with MonaLisa Touch, although you should avoid sexual activity for 2-3 days following treatment. We also recommend avoiding submersion in hot water and exercising for a short time. Some women also experience temporary redness or swelling for a day or two. Most patients feel improvement the first week after their initial treatment, but multiple sessions are needed for optimal results. After your initial treatments are complete, we recommend yearly maintenance sessions for the best results.

MonaLisa Touch is clinically proven for vaginal health, delivering both immediate and lasting relief.
