PRP (platelet-rich plasma) comes from your very own blood. Our blood contains plasma, which contains platelets, and within those platelets are dozens of growth factors. These growth factors and platelets help the body to heal, promote cell growth, and perform tissue repair, in turn creating more collagen bundling than your body naturally creates on its own.
When PRP is incorporated into another treatment, such as microneedling, these growth factors stimulate tissue regeneration and promote the production of new collagen and elastin, which is beneficial for the skin. Additionally, PRP can be applied topically in combination with microneedling, either with or without the use of radio frequency. PRP is safe to be injected under the eyes for a brightening effect, into the lips to improve color and restore texture, and into the scalp or eyebrows to restore hair fullness.
